Class Schedules and Services Print E-mail

1. The Parents Forever Class: The class meets court requirements for court ordered parent education.  While it is referred to in the order you will receive from the court as a "Parent Education Order", it is not a class about parenting.

The class is a resource to divorcing or separated parents providing ways to better communicate the needs of your children and provide information on ways to make co parenting easier. Even if you are proceeding with uncontested or "friendly" divorce, the court will require you to attend a co parenting educational class.

2. Mediation services. Mediation is particularly helpful if you are proceeding with a divorce without attorneys because it will provide you with some support services. However, a mediator will not provide you with legal or specific financial advice.  When you enter a mediation process, the parties are in control of what final decisions are made.

If you are represented by an attorney, your attorney may request you to consider mediation at some point during the litigation period.

Parents Forever Classes

To help you better understand the class materials, we request that you read the articles in "Tips" on our website and visit "Helpful Links" before the class. It may also shorten the conflict resolution class if all class participants read the articles.  However, no web course work is required to complete certification.

  • $80- cash basis due at the time of service
  • $40 - Reduced fee for Legal Aid clients (Fees are not waived for Legal Aid recipients)

2010 Class Schedule: Please bring your own snacks, beverages or a bag lunch.

If the class potentially has an effect on your parenting time, it is advised that you contact the other parent as soon as possible to adjust your parenting time schedule so you can attend without missing precious parenting time.  If verification is needed by the other parent that you are scheduled to attend, they may call the office for verification of your registration.

Private Class: If you have a difficult work schedule, we can accommodate a parent with a private class by appointment.  However, because it is a one-on-one class, the cost is $160.  The class can be completed on a one-on-one in approximately 3.5 hours.
